About Me

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 in Bristol and started working in the NHS with people who struggle with a variety of issues with their muscles, joints and nerves in all parts of their body. Since 2012 I have specialised in the lower limb and have a mixed caseload of sporting injuries right through to age related degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis. Whoever I am treating my passion is seeing people get back to their individual aims and goals.

I would say my approach to physiotherapy is straight forward. I think simple, honest advice is key and my bias would always be towards helping someone self-manage their condition through education, advice and exercise rather than offering lots of treatments that have a lower evidence base. I have a special interest in sports, with many years of experience diagnosing and treating sporting injuries. I have played a variety of different sports myself, including football, basketball and golf and currently am involved in junior football coaching at grass roots level.

I still work in the NHS as a Lower Limb Clinical Specialist and within this setting I provide expert care for people with a variety of problems with their ankles, knees and hips. This may be after an operation, injury or sometimes it can be a pain that seems like it can appear out of nowhere such as issues with your tendons (tendinopathy) or joints (arthritis). In this setting I have extended scope orthopaedic skills such as requesting images such as X-rays/MRIs and providing steroid injections.

I have written post-operative lower limb rehabilitation protocols on a number of surgical procedures including return to sport plan for patients after ACL reconstruction. This process involves collaboration with top orthopaedic surgeons and a review of the evidence of best practice when managing surgical procedures.  This has given me the experience and confidence to help you return to your chosen sport or functional activity after any lower limb surgery.

I have over 10 years’ experience focussing on the lower limb (ankle, Knee and hip) and in total nearly 15 years working as a MSK physiotherapist. This has provided me with the skills to help you with almost any condition related to the muscles, joints and nerves.

What working in the NHS has done for me?

A few years ago I had a horrific ACL & Meniscus injury. For my rehabilitation I was under the care of Tim. He’s an excellent physiotherapist. Tim guided me through all the various stages of recovery and he was always on the other end of the phone if I had any concerns. Nothing was too much trouble for him.

I couldn’t recommend Tim highly enough. His expertise and professionalism got me back playing football again. When I had my injury playing for a professional club abroad another physio said I would never kick a ball again.

It’s thanks to Tim I’m back playing. If you’re coming back from injury don’t hesitate to give Tim a call. With his vast knowledge and experience Tim won’t be long in getting you fit again.

Thanks again Tim!
